AAC Day 3 Recap

As the Hoop Mountain All-Academic Camp winded down early on Friday, many players were still playing hard and showing what they could do to college coaches.  The following players stood out on Friday:

Mike Perry (Bishop Feehan)- The rising sophomore was on fire on Friday afternoon.  He got to the hoop at will, and used his body position on those drives well enough to draw multiple fouls and convert a few old-school three-point plays.

Xavier Proctor (Chadwick School, CA)- Proctor was extremely active, and plays bigger than his 6'5 frame.  He is hard-working on the interior and rebounds the ball at a high rate, but he is also a very good passer out of either the high or low post.  He runs the floor extremely hard to set himself up for easy baskets.

Josh Bradanese (Billerica Memorial HS)- The 6'6 strong forward plays as a threat from the outside and inside the paint.  He is strong, and is able to finish inside.  But he also shot the ball well on Friday morning, proving to be one of the best inside-out players at camp.

Alex Dorion (Needham HS)- One of the best shooters all camp, Dorion has a very nice shooting stroke which should cause havoc in the MIAA this upcoming season.  Defenses must know where he is at all times.

Yannic Williams (Holy Cross HS, NY)- Williams is a 6'7 forward who can shoot the ball well for his size.  When he is playing hard, he is a very intriguing prospect due to his build and his length, not to mention his shot and emerging skill level.

Rodrigue Marthone (Commonwealth Academy)- The CA guard impressed leading the fast break, as he is a threat to not only finish with his strong frame, but also pass to the open man.

Cooper Macklin (Field School, MD)- The 2017 guard shot the ball really well from the perimeter on Friday morning, stretching the defense so his teammates had driving lanes open.

Mason Rush (Fairfield Ludlowe)- Rush played well all-around on the offensive end on Friday morning, converting on several strong drives in which he was able to get past his defender rather easily.

Sayo Denloye (Viewpoint School, CA)- Denloye is a little guard from California that crashes the offensive boards very hard and gets his hands on a lot of balls not only on the boards, but on the defensive end.  He jumps very quickly off the ground, which also enables him to take off quickly off the ground while heading to the rim to finish.

Jeremy Horn (Lower Merion, PA)- The 6'8 big man has decent touch from the outside, but he is not afraid to bang inside and runs the floor well for a big, making him a valuable contributor.

Xavier Cooke (Anglican Grammar School, Australia)- Making by far the longest trip to Brandeis, Cooke stood out on Friday morning for his unselfishness and willing to make the extra pass and not look for his own offense if the opportunity did not present itself.
