2026 #E75 College Showcase Central - Backcourt Recap pt. 1
Keyshon Joyner
MacDuffie School, 5'9", 2027
After years of consistently standing out, Joyner is really beginning to make a name for himself in the recruiting world. He runs the show at the point guard spot, getting paint touches seemingly at will while keeping the offense organized. A pass-first lead guard by nature, he also has the ability to make shots off the dribble, breaking down the defense and elevating into shots at different levels of the floor. His feel for controlling the game continues to impress and has led to two reported scholarship offers this spring.
Reece Ayala
Milton Academy, 6'5", 2027
There's an argument to be made that Ayala is one of the most skilled guards in New England's 2027 class. At 6'5", he brings tremendous versatility defensively, showing the ability to guard both smaller guards and bigger wings using his big frame and quick feet. Offensively, his quick handle and explosiveness allow him to get downhill and put constant pressure on the defense. He's as crafty as they come and really impressed college coaches this past weekend at the NEPSAC Showcase. Will be an integral piece to Milton once again.
Ryan McLaughlin
Milton Academy, 6'2", 2027
McLaughlin has really started to look like himself again and put together one of the better offensive showings of the day. He attacked defenders confidently off the bounce, getting to the rim where he showed excellent touch finishing through traffic. His jumper was falling consistently as well, as he put together an impressive shooting display from the perimeter. It's easy to see why Ivy and Patriot League programs continue to prioritize him. Trust your eyes, he is extremely skilled.
Christian Dalton
Mount Saint Charles Academy, 6'2", 2027
Dalton is one you have to be aware of when he has the ball in his hands, as he can really make things happen off the dribble. The southpaw guard uses a shifty handle and changes of speed to keep defenders guessing before getting to his spots. He can really snap passes through tight windows and comfortably rise into pull-up jumpers off the dribble. His feel as a creator stands out for both his own looks and setting the table for others.
CJ Farrell
St. Mark's, 6'1", 2027
Farrell is one of those guards that flat out contributes to winning. He runs the offense, scores when needed, and consistently makes the right plays with the ball in his hands. He's also sneakily athletic, getting up for some big-time dunks when the opportunity presents itself. His speed and skill shine when he hits lanes in the defense to get to the rack, while he's a consistent shooter as well. Despite holding Division I football offers, Farrell has his sights set on playing college basketball.
Austin Workman
MacDuffie School, 6'6", 2027
The Morris Catholic (NJ) postgrad brings intriguing size and versatility to the backcourt. Workman is a crafty slasher who gets downhill with purpose, finishing above the rim when opportunities present themselves. He also has the ability to heat up from beyond the arc, knocking down shots in bunches once he finds a rhythm. Multiple scholarship offers have already been extended his way thus far, and he looks to put together a big year with a promising Macduffie team.
Ty Grudzien
Putnam Science Academy, 6'1", 2027
Grudzien is the definition of a swiss army knife, as versatile as they make them. He does whatever his team needs on a game-to-game basis, whether it's defending, making shots at multiple levels, or bringing toughness and physicality to both ends. He's comfortable filling different roles and impacts winning in a variety of ways. He's a player we have become really big fans of recently, and think could be an impact player at many different levels of the college game.
Raul Cruz
Noble & Greenough, 6'3", 2027
Cruz is an extremely high-IQ lead guard who understands how to control a game at the point guard position. He uses his strength well, sees plays before they develop, and can deceive defenders with his passing vision and skill to thread them through windows. When the defense gives him room, he can really show off his ability to make shots from the perimeter as well. He is a captain for a Nobles team primed for another big season and has all the traits you look for in a leader and winning player in college.
Isaac Rivera
The Governor's Academy, 6'1", 2027
Rivera has done a great job developing his body over the last year and is beginning to use that strength to his advantage. He embraces contact in the lane, sacrifices his body to take charges, and competes every possession. His three-point shooting remains the biggest weapon in his offensive arsenal, as he consistently stretches the floor. Will be key for Govs this season as they look to make some noise in the Class B ranks.
Hunter Peabody
Phillips Academy Andover, 6'2", 2027
Peabody has made a strong case over the last month as one of the top shooters in New England. He can operate both on and off the ball, rising right into jumpers with a smooth, repeatable release on it. He also keeps the ball moving and makes solid decisions within the flow of the offense. His shooting gravity opens things up for the offense and will be crucial for Andover in Class A.
Aidan Maguire
Cheshire Academy, 6'2", 2027
Maguire plays with a terrific feel for the game and consistently makes winning plays, as he was a big part of Cheshire's run in AA this past season. He creates space with his handle, makes jumpers when defenses back off, and does a nice job creating opportunities for teammates. His decision-making with the ball stands out when you watch him play.
Jordan Oliver
Acton-Boxborough Regional, 6'2", 2027
Oliver continues to look like the next college prospect to come through Acton-Boxborough. He attacked the basket well, made strong reads on the move, and consistently found teammates after getting into the paint. The 6'2" guard moves the ball well and is capable of making shots when defenses collapse. A hidden gem in the MIAA ranks to check out.
Adam Fitzgerald
Bridgton Academy, 6'3", 2027
The Maine native and Bridgton postgrad plays with great pace and control with the ball. Fitzgerald's handle allowed him to consistently get to his spots, where he has a fluid release and confidence in his jumper. Once he gets into a rhythm, he can be very difficult to slow down offensively, as he can really let it fly at multiple levels. Good blend of size, handling, and shotmaking.
Conor Chi
Thayer Academy, 6'2", 2027
A true gym rat, Chi continues to thrive as one of the better shooters in the Massachusetts 2027 class. He moves exceptionally well without the ball and is constantly relocating to create clean catch-and-shoot opportunities and space out the offense. His smooth release and touch make him a player defenders simply can't lose track of. High-academic driller that should be on the radar of many college programs.
Chris Vinson
Worcester Academy, 6'3", 2027
The southpaw guard continues to impress with his blend of size and skill in the backcourt. Vinson has a really smooth handle that allows him to get downhill with crafty finishes and create separation off the bounce. He comfortably rises into jumpers and finds teammates with his passing vision. A sneaky player with the skill to be a really solid player in college and a top contributor for Worcester this fall.
Thomas Behrmann
Tilton School, 6'2", 2027
Fresh off leading Medfield to an MIAA Final Four appearance, Behrmann brought the same poise and decision-making to this setting. He reads the floor well, consistently makes the right play, and has the passing chops to keep an offense flowing. The 6'2" point guard also showed the ability to create his own offense when needed. He can get downhill at will and spray the ball around the arc on the move.
Jack Olinto
Archbishop Williams, 6'2", 2027
Coming off a big winter in the MIAA, Olinto continued to show the offensive versatility that led to his success. He knocked down shots from the perimeter, attacked defenders off the bounce, and consistently made the right read once he got into the lane. His ability to score or zip a pass gives him different ways to be a real threat on the court.
John Fitzgibbon
Brimmer & May, 6'4", 2027
Fitzgibbon has a bit of a throwback feel to his game with the way he scores and competes. The 6'4" guard has crafty touch off the glass while knocking down perimeter shots when given space. He also used his length and mobility to play aggressively on the defensive end, making life difficult for opposing guards. Flashy game that can really turn heads at times.
Jake Stanger
Milton Academy, 6'4", 2029
One of the youngest players in the field, Stanger's complete game allowed him to shine in a field of much older players. He consistently made the right play, knocked down open shots, and attacked aggressive closeouts to get into the paint. The 6'4" guard has a mature feel for the game that's uncommon for his age and has great upside on a promising Milton team.
Rohan Kenney
New Paltz HS, 6'3", 2027
The high-academic guard put together another strong showing with his balanced game. Kenney knocked down threes with clean mechanics, made smart passes in transition, and competed on both ends of the floor. Can tell he is the son of a coach the way he sees the game and lets it come to him.
