2025 Frosh/Soph #E75 - Best of the Guards pt. 4
Jaxon Rosario, East Longmeadow High School - Rosario loves to pick up full court and bring the intensity on that end with constant communication backed with hustle. He fights to front in the most if outsized. On the offensive end he's a poised ball handler that is trusted by teammates.
Anthony Manley, St Bernards - Manley is a speedy guard who gets his defenders off balance and rise up for his go-to pull up jumper. When the defenders bite on the jumper, he has no issue floating it over a help defender with soft touch.
Beau Millar, New Hampton - A guard with good size and an aptitude for creating space and getting downhill. He uses his body on the defensive well on the defensive end without fouling and reads angles at a high level. He is a great rebounding guard and continues to develop as a primary ball handler.
JP Viciere, South Shore Christian Academy - Viciere has an elite midrange jumper with great elevation and solid mechanics. Able to attack off the bounce and get to his spots to utilize that jumper.
Russell Skloff, Thayer Academy - Skloff is a hard-nose player who displays strength in his playstyle. He has good court vision and is an aggressive slasher on the offensive end.
Ryder Brainis, Newhampton School - Brainis is a tough, pass first point guard. He leads an offense with good pace and has a natural feel for the game. He is a competitor through and through on both ends and is not afraid to pour it in from three when open.
Cameron Clemons, St. Luke's - The latest Clemons brother to come through the ranks, Cameron is cerebral scorer with a knack for getting to the right spots on the court. He does a good job of making the right pass, may still be growing, and will be one to watch as he makes his way through his years at St. Luke's.
Trey Ciolkosz, Weymouth - Ciolkosz is a 6'0 guard who is exceptional at moving without the ball. His ability to impact the game without having the ball in his hands is something many coaches look for in a player, when he does get an open look, he typically knocks it down.
Warner Grenier, The Williams School - Grenier is a high-IQ guard who gets crafty around the rim to finish over bigger defenders. He has a tight handle that allows him to be a leader on the offensive end and distribute the rock.
Brett Burnham, Branford High School - Burnham displays a good pullup mid-range jumper and is able to keep a low center of gravity when handling the ball. He is also superb at drawing contact when getting to the rim.
Christian Figueroa, Dexter Southfield - Excellent three point shooter off the catch while also having an admirable ability to get to the rim and make the right pass.
Robert Bullock, Weston - Bullock can really impact games with the speed he brings to the floor, exposing holes in the defense and creating space with his handle. He can operate on/off the ball, scoring it on drives to the rim, or stepping into shots from beyond the arc.
Chase Goulet, Thornton Acad - The rising sophomore guard showed off his versatile scoring skill set in his outing at Dana Barros. Goulet was able to make things happen off the dribble especially well getting into the defense to score in the paint, while also knocking down three's off the catch.
Aiden Turpin, St. John's - Turpin brought his solid set of two-way skills to the floor in his outing at the Elite 75. The point guard is a threat to score the ball off the dribble both stopping for three's and getting into the paint, while playing with energy on the defensive end.
Nathan Daye, NDWH - Daye put on a strong performance in his outing at Hamden Hall, playing alongside some familiar faces. He was able to finish in the lane a multitude of times using his crafty bag and taking advantage of the mismatches he created off the dribble.
Jack Cohen, Hamden Hall - Cohen plays a heads up game in the back court reading the floor and looking to make the right play. His ability to use his handle to get to the rim stood out as well as his willingness to crash the boards.
James Canavan, St. Joseph's - Canavan is a tough guard that can really contribute to the game on either end of the floor. He did a great job guarding the ball, and getting into the body of the opposing players, while also showing off his ability to make shots with a smooth stroke.
JJ Wiley, Suffield HS - The southpaw guard showed off the two-way intangibles he brings to the floor forcing turnovers by jumping lanes for deflections, and finishing layups in transition.
Pilot Massicotte, Mansfield - The rising sophomore guard brings good size to the backcourt standing around 6'3", and was able to show off his slick finishing ability making shots in the lane consistently in his outing.
Ryan Muli, Cheshire - The smaller guard showed off his ability to play above his size as a strong rebounder in his outing, while doing a good job of converting pull-up's in the mid range and playing fast.
Mason Owens, Bassick HS - The guard's play at the showcase was full of confidence that resonated with our scouts watching on. He brings a strong command of the ball with his handle, gets to his spots, and makes jumpers.
Tyreese Gaither, Wilbur Cross - Next up in a long line of Wilbur Cross guards who have stood out in this event over the years, Gaither put on a strong performance. The sophomore guard racked up steals, playing with active hands and using his quickness to fly around the floor. His vision and playmaking stood out as well.
Will McGonegal, GFA - McGonegal's ability to score the ball was a big takeaway from our viewing of his game as he showed off the range he brings to the floor as a shooter, and finishing he adds in the paint.
Matty Schortmann, Westfield - A southpaw guard out of Western Mass, Schortmann delivered a good performance playing stout defense using his active hands, and making shots with a clean release on jumpers.
Avery Geiger-Schutz, Greece Arcadia - The freshman is an aggressive two-way player who plays the game with some swagger, and showed that he is a skilled shot maker with the ability to be a good defender as well.
