2025 Frosh/Soph #E75 - Best of the Guards pt. 3

Brayden Buckley, Thayer - Buckley has made himself known thus far as a high-powered guard who can really make things happen when he's on the floor. A big contributor in many facets of the game, Buckley can score the rock with confidence, while serving as a lead distributor, and also making an effort to go for rebounds. Having already shown out up to this point, Buckley is set to continue assuming a major role moving forward on a young and promising Thayer Academy squad.                                                        

 

Jackson Perri, Roxbury Latin - Playing up for a few years now, Perri has established himself as one of the bigger names in the rising sophomore class. At the point guard spot, the Roxbury Latin guard runs the show, making great reads within the flow of the offense and playing winning basketball. With his two-way play as a scorer that plays tough defense, and ability to get others good looks at shots, Perri will continue to be a 2028 player to watch as he rises through the ranks.                                                       

 

Quincy King, Taconic - The Western Mass rising sophomore has made some noise in the Berkshires, and showed off his skillset in his outing. King has an eye for getting to the rim using his quickness and slippery handle, while being able to step out and hit shots as well.                                                        

 

Xavier Hodge, Cromwell - Hodge was a standout in CIAC play as a freshman last season, and will enter his sophomore year with a primary role in hand. The big point guard is a known shooter from outside who can get right into shots and can light it up if left open. Playing with a high motor and working on facilitating will be huge next steps for him in his development. 

 

Isaiah Ferguson, Lowell Catholic - Guard with good height at 6'2, Ferguson is effective off the bounce with his pull-up jumper. He is continuing to grow as a playmaker, but the effort never lacks with his great motor                                                        

 

Kingstan Scannell, Hopkins School - Kingstan has a pure jumper off the catch, he is always displaying his high basketball IQ by making the right reads, while showing a strong desire to improve.                                                        

 

Krish Dodani, Greens Farms Academy - Dodani shows no fear as a smaller guard, consistently finishing through contact, getting to the rack off the dribble, and crashing the glass to earn his team second chance opportunities.                                                        

 

Ayden Dancy, Kolbe Cathedral Prep - Dancy is an undersized guard who makes up for it in many ways. He plays well above his size, has a knack for running the show on offense, and is tough for any defender to stay in front of with his quick, twitchy movements.                                                        

 

Michael Caterino, Watertown High School - Caterino is a southpaw guard who gets to his spot in the mid-range game at will, he's a tough shot maker whether who can knock it down off balance. Expect Caterino to earn himself a larger role this year.                                                        

 

Polo Cineus, Belmont Hill School - An undersized guard who makes up for it with his exceptional IQ. He's got quick feet and hands. Savion also possesses the ability to score the ball at all three levels.                                                        

 

Sean Costello, BC High - Costello is constantly looking to find himself open looks and knock down big threes. He partners that with a relentless defensive motor.                                                        

 

Benjamin Heyward, Reason Prep - Heyward is a microwave scorer who can get hot quickly. He has a + wingspan and uses his body well to get into the chest of defenders and draw contact.                                                        

 

Mason Germain, East Longmeadow High School - Germain is an athletic guard who uses his physical capabilities for acrobatic finishes. He's constantly moving without the ball to get himself easy looks while also having a knack for freeing up teammates with off-ball screens.                                                        

 

Jax Hines, Arlington Catholic - Hines is the definition of hustle over height, despite being one of the smallest kids in the gym he plays harder than most. He's great at making the extra pass, driving and kicking to open shooters, and is a menace on defense, picking up his opponent early.                                                        

 

Zaiden Odugbela, MSC - Easily the youngest player in the field this year, and maybe in the history of the Frosh/Soph Elite 75, Odugbela was able to make his mark. He's only in the seventh grade, but plays well beyond his age, making strong decisions with the ball, keeping good command on it, and scoring it in a variety of ways. His high school debut will be much anticipated in a couple of years.                                                        

 

Cody Tolley, Cape Cod Acad - A rising freshman of note on the Cape, Tolley has some game to monitor as he gets into the high school ranks this year. With glaring guard size, the 2029 guard has a great blend of handling and scoring to get to his spots both in the lane and on the perimeter and see his shots fall.                                                        

 

Kewito Castigo, Lewiston - Castigo has a smooth stroke and in an underrated passer. Castigo has elite body control when attacking the painted area.                                                        

 

Marquis Smith, Catholic Memorial - Smith is a terrific on-ball defender who is consistently applying pressure. He has the ability to knock down the open three and does not hesitate to make the extra pass to turn a good shot into a great one.                                                        

 

Conor Devine, Macduffie/NY Gauchos - Devine is elite at running the break and getting his team easy transition points. He uses a tight handle and solid frame to protect the ball at all times while possessing a good jumper with smooth mechanics.                                                        

 

Braxton Niedermeier, New Canaan - The rising sophomore guard can change the game in transition, pushing the pace of the offense and attacking the basket with a blend of touch/control to finish layups. He's shown to be a solid outside shooter as well, and will be an underclassmen to watch at NCHS.                                                        

 

Cam Quinn, Portsmouth High School - Quinn has a great motor and a strong ability to shoot the three. On defense, he is sound laterally and shows the ability to stay in front.                                                         

 

Zeke Williams, Deerfield Academy - An elite sharpshooter who can knock it down from anywhere, Williams has no issues getting his shot off in catch-and-shoot scenarios or when he has to create for himself, thanks to his quick release. Williams also displays a great natural feel for the game and high basketball IQ.
