2025 Frosh/Soph #E75 - Best of the Forwards pt. 2

Continuing with some of the standout forwards we saw across the two events this past weekend, here are some more names to know.

Noah Loban, Fairfield Prep - The Southern Connecticut native was a pleasant surprise on the day at the Hamden Hall version of the event. Loban brings good size to the floor, using his athleticism to impact the game around the basket, making timely cuts and scoring many baskets on the interior.

Ethan Mellor, Cony - The Maine rising freshman made his mark at the Frosh/Soph Elite 75, walking away as a top new name to know out of the North. Standing at 6'5", Mellor brings a skilled game to the court, along with his athleticism and shooting ability, he will be a name to keep on the radar moving forward.

Brenden Jordan, Redemption Christian - The incoming sophomore at Redemption Christian played well in his showing the other day. At 6'7", Jordan is a competent spot-up shooter with growing bounce to get above the rim and flush down dunks.

Chris Larame - With some size to him, standing at 6'4", Pierre may be due for a larger role with Saint Bernard's moving forward. The forward showed off some great touch in and around the basket, thriving on put-back's and turnaround jumpers within the paint.

Cooper Penesso, Albany Acad. - The 6'4" forward out of Albany played well in his Elite 75 debut the other day. A rising freshman, Penesso showed good ability to attack the basket off the rip in straight lines and has some athleticism to make defenders pay around the rim.

KZ Berendsohn, New Milford - A surprise player on the day, Berendsohn has some intriguing traits that will catch some coaches looks down the line. We came away impressed with the speed he brings to the floor while attacking the glass for boards, and being able to rise up with authroity as a finisher.

Daniel Vincent, Hamden Hall - Playing on his home floor, Vincent had a solid outing on the day at the Elite 75. The forward does a great job on the glass playing with a motor to rebound the ball, as well as showing off his touch as a scorer within the arc.

Liam Kilroy, Dexter Soutfield - Making the transfer from Westwood (MA), Kilroy becomes another intriguing piece to the up-and-coming Dexter squad. The 6'6" southpaw forward has been making strides towards becoming a more competent three-point threat, while serving as a switchable, tough defender.

Noah Corso, BB&N - Corso had put himself on our radar prior to his showing at the Elite 75, and performed well in his outing. Standing at 6'6", he possesses great shooting skills, complemented by a quick release and some self-creation.

Ryland August, Brimmer - Joining the Gators from Hopkinton High School, August has some game at the forward position to make note of. He plays above his size defensively, guarding multiple positions on the floor, and poses a threat to knock down shots off the catch from outside.

Sam Newton, Longmeadow - Newton will seemingly step into a good role at Longmeadow this season following the departures of Nolan Ryczek and Daniel Wheeler. His motor, ability to make shots from deep and release it quick, as well as make downhill reads stood out.

Wesley Haran, Wheeler - With early size at 6'5", Haran had made some big contributions in ZGXL play already thus far. He does a great job of anchoring the post, scoring the ball and collecting rebound opportunities.

Beckett Seymour, Greens Farms - Another half of the Seymour brothers, Beckett brings good length to the floor as well. He makes a strong impact on the defensive end, forcing deflections that can lead to turnovers.

Liam Peck, Sheehan HS - The 6'6" forward showed some glimpses of upside in his outing using his long frame to get vertical to alter shots in and around the paint, while serving as a finisher on dump-off passes from driving guards.

Enzo Mugisha, Thornton Academy - A guard with some size to him at 6'3", Mugisha's ability to impact the game with his low and tight handle to get to the basket caught our eye in his appearance.
