2025-26 NHIAA Midseason Report

Division I

Portsmouth sits at 11-0 with quality wins over Exeter, Merrimack, and Alvirne. The Clippers have found their success through balanced scoring and defensive intensity, with Isaiah Reis, one of the top shooters in the state, and Derek Swartz, a pure bucket-getter who can score at any level, both leading the team at 15+ PPG. Swartz and Finn McCauley make for one of the most exciting duos in the public school ranks this winter. Their ability to share the ball and defend at a high level has them positioned as legitimate contenders for the division crown.

Bedford is the other team at the top of Division I with a number of big wins under their belt, such as an early-season win against Trinity. College prospects Logan O'Connell, Landon Ellsmore, and Luke O'Connell have led the way in the scoring column, bringing a strong blend of size and shotmaking, all scoring 10+ PPG. The trio shares the offensive load well and has proven they are ready to make a deep playoff run. Ryan O'Rourke is another key piece to the squad with size and upside to keep an eye out for.

Division I Top Scorers:

Connor McGowan, Bishop Guertin - 25.0 PPG

Chris Gumaa, Manchester Central - 21.8 PPG

Kash Bailey, Winnacunnet - 19.9 PPG

Division II:

At 11-0, Hollis-Brookline has taken control of Division II with statement wins over Hanover and Oyster River, two top 10 teams. Starting the season out super consistent, winning a lot of games early. James Arthur and 6'6 senior Alton Williams are a tough scoring duo, both averaging 16 PPG, making life difficult for opposing defenses with their complete skill sets. Williams' size and versatility at that height create tons of matchup problems, on top of Arthur's ability to score it gives Hollis-Brookline a balanced attack. Their ability to close out games has gotten them to the top of the standings and has put them as the clear favorites so far.

Division II Top Scorers:

Ryan Casey, Bishop Brady - 22.8 PPG

Brady Moulton, Kingswood - 21.5 PPG

Max Houde, Manchester West - 20.9 PPG

Division III

Belmont sits atop Division III with a perfect 13-0 record, dominating every opponent they have faced with a staggering 342-point differential and winning each game by double digits. Recent statement wins include a 41-point victory over Inter Lakes and a 42-point win against Prospect Mountain, showing the Raiders ability to control Division III competition. Leading the charge is Evan Martinez, a top freshman in the state, averaging 18 PPG, who is really making a name for himself early in his high school career. Belmont’s consistent execution has positioned themselves as the team to beat in Division III.

Division III Top Scorers:

Kasen Smith, White Mountain - 23.8 PPG

Owen Wilkinson, Stevens - 20.8 PPG

Bryce Ballow, Mascoma Valley - 20.6 PPG

Division IV:

In a competitive division, Hinsdale and Littleton stand at the top, showing they can win in different ways. The Pacers have gutted out close wins over Epping and Farmington, staying composed in big moments, proving themselves as state title contenders. Connor Dixon has been unstoppable for them, averaging 22 PPG and leading the scoring consistently taking over games with his ability to create his own shot and deliver in crunch time. Sam Reagey has powered Littleton's success this season contributing more than 20 points per game of his own as well.

Division IV Top Scorers:

Enzo Yonkeau, Holy Family - 27.5 PPG

Luke Farland, Concord Christian - 25.9 PPG
