2024 Frosh/Soph #E75 North - The Forwards
The Frosh/Soph Elite 75 showcase once again brought together New England's top underclassmen for two separate days of #RealExposure. As we continue to go through the standouts from the event, we'll take a look at the forwards who came out on Friday at M-Plex. There are tons of high-upside prospects in this group whom we expect to take off in the near future if they haven't already. Let's take a look…
Jalen Rogers, Beaver Country Day - Our first viewing of the Boston native was notable as he's picked up steam in the recruiting world as of late. He's got a smooth shooting stroke with a quick load up to get shots off from outside. He can put the ball on the floor, shows some defensive versatility and racked up boards. Nearly finished the poster of the night, but definitely showed his upside as a big time prospect to know in the class of 2027.
Preston Bollin, Newman - The younger half of the Bollin brothers stood out at the Frosh/Soph showcase in a loaded field. He's got a high motor on both ends of the floor, using his physicality to burrow his way to the basket, or to keep his assignment in front of him. As a playmaker, he's got great vision finding open teammates all over the floor. Rebounding is a major strength of his, as well as being a threat to score from outside.
Daniel Karavanic, Nashua South - New Hampshire's Karavanic was one the true stockrisers of the night. Coming in from Nashua, Karavanic's size and playmaking ability in the frontcourt turned heads. He's got some moves to score around defenders and a scoring arsenal that stretches to the three-point line.
Tyson Robinson, Brimmer and May School - The Newton native flashed his upside in multiple game sets during the event. He's athletic and can use that to his advantage on drives through the lane. He blocked a bunch of shots in the paint and was noted as one of the better rebounders in the gym.
Lucas Short, North Quincy - Making a trip over from the South Shore, Short put on an impressive display. He's got some handling skills, shoots it from outside and can break down defenders in front of him. On the defensive end he made some big time blocks at the rim.
Jackson Lockett, MacDuffie - The Northampton native recently transferred into AA at Macduffie and played well throughout the night. He's a tough rebounder on both ends of the floor, and does a good job of using his length/mobility to alter shots at all three levels. Operated well without the ball and as his shot continues to come into form, he looks to be a prospect of note.
Dylan Lyons, Bourne - A coveted prospect on the cape, Lyons put his talent on display for our scouts. He's got experience playing up on varsity as an eighth grader and it shows in his game. He can attack the basket from outside and finish for dunks, but is also a shooting threat from the perimeter.
Elijah Ibidapo, Shea - An intriguing prospect returning for a second year, Ibidapo's upside is one to note. He's got a very long wingspan, terrific instincts defensively to block shots that come his way, and rebounds the ball. His offense is continuing to come around, but will make him a big threat if it does
Jack Gedroge, Kent's Hill - Moving into the state of Maine from England, Gedroge truly impressed those watching on. He's a true stretch forward that knocks down three-pointers from all around the floor. His release is quick and compact, but definitely makes him a prospect of note up north at Kent's Hill.
Christopher Taylor, Newman - The Roxbury native has a budding game in the frontcourt. He's got playmaking chops to find open teammates from out on the perimeter, and did a good job of limiting turnovers. As a scorer he flashed three-point shooting and made a number of shots in the post.
Alex Ste. Marie, Manchester Essex - The 6'3" forward brings a strong body to the court and some impressive interior play. He's got footwork and post moves to make shots around the basket, and plays competitive defense.
Maddox Dobson, Lowell Catholic - We came away very impressed with Dobson's blend of size and shooting as he knocked down a few three's throughout the night. He operated well out of the post, waiting patiently before attacking his assignment to score around the basket.
Sekou Kaba, Rocky Hill - One of the most athletic players in the gym, Kaba is a high-flyer that has to be accounted for. He's got some strength to him and can overpower defenders at the rim for powerful slams.
Aadarash Yalamanchili, Worcester Academy - The 6'6" forward caught our attention early on at the showcase. He's got obvious size, but brings shooting to the table from the arc as well. He showed off some playmaking and impacted the game on defense.
Mohammed Fadia, Classical - The Rhode Island 6'6" forward stands out immediately with his build and physical frame. He uses this to his advantage to hold box outs, push defenders off the block and attack the rim for dunks.
Archer Daniels, Groton School - The New York City based prospect made a strong impact at the showcase. He's a good defender who stays right on his man, rebounds the ball, and showed his anticipation on defense by forcing turnovers.
