2010 Rankings Released

All of the college prospects in our system have now been ranked as today the New England Recruiting Report releases our updated 2010 list.  Here is a look at the region’s top 10:

1.  Nate Lubick – He stays #1 after another stellar season at St. Mark’s and a tremendous start to the AAU season leading the New England Playaz to the Spring Fling championship and the finals at Take Your Best Shot Tournament in Washington D.C.

2.  Gerard Coleman – No more Oriakhi and Coombs means Coleman is now the man both at Tilton and on his BABC roster.  Despite enhanced focus from the defense don’t expect a drop off as he’s the best pure scorer in the region.

3.  Carson Desrosiers – According to one report he actually averaged a triple double this year for Central Catholic.  We know he’s not playing against the same level of competition as some others, but that’s still an incredible accomplishment

4.  Jason Morris – He battled injuries for most of his junior year at Hotchkiss, and was consequently up and down.  His incredible athleticism, and good size for the perimeter, gives him as much upside as anyone.

5.  Evan Smotrycz – We told you a couple of weeks ago that no one in the class of 2010 had improved their stock more, last week came the proof as Smotrycz committed to the University of Michigan and then blew up at the Pitt Jam Fest.

6.  Maxie Esho – Still a bit of an unknown to many New England fans because he plays so far north, but he has been a star with D.C. Assault’s AAU teams for a couple of years and is an undeniable high major talent.

7.  Rod Odom – He’s had as many coaches in to see him this season as anyone and his combination of size and skill on the perimeter has many of the top programs in the country intrigued.

8.  Hector Harold – The NMH gym is a popular place this spring as many high major coaches are making the trip to see the skilled 6’7” swingman from California.  Virginia and Notre Dame are two of the most recent.

9.  Melvin Ejim – In terms of upside, there are few who can match Ejim.  He’s got all the tools physically and made great strides in his first season at Brewster.

10.  Ron Giplaye – It’s hard to have a better start to the AAU season than 20 points and 20 rebounds when matched up against Jared Sullinger (2nd ranked player in the country according to scout.com) at the Boo Williams tournament.
