ZG Finals on tap for next weekend

Next weekend the annual Zero Gravity Finals returns to the greater Boston area. With over 550 teams expected across more than 50 courts, the event is attracting teams from as far as Texas and Canada and promises to be one of the nation's biggest and deepest grassroots events of the year.

The New England Recruiting Report will be in attendance providing wall to wall coverage in the high school divisions while coverage of the middle school ranks will be available on Twitter at @ZeroGravityBB. The field includes nationally known programs including Mass Rivals, BABC, CBC, New England Playaz, New Heights, eXpressions, Adidas Elite, Team Final, Albany City Rocks, Maryland Tarheels, Nova Suns, Wayne PAL, Castle Athletics, Wall 2 Wall, DC Blue Devils, and LI Lightning as well as numerous others looking to make a name for themselves.

Local Programs to Watch

BABC - The Defending Zero Gravity National Champions come in to Finals across multiple age groups looking to do damage. New England's most storied AAU program with a long list of championships and distinguished alumni, the BABC just added the latest chapter by extending their national record of consecutive appearances in the Nike Peach Jam.

Mass Rivals - A program that prides themselves on the development of their individual talent, the Rivals have been doing what they do best all spring long - winning games and picking up scholarship offers in the process. Now they turn their focus to ZG Finals where they have a legit chance to contend for a championship in all three high school divisions.

New England Playaz - One of the most respected grassroots programs in the country, the New England Playaz are set to make their latest apperance at ZG Finals. Their 17's finished the Adidas Gauntlet regular season with a 6-2 record and are coming off a championship at the Adidas Atlanta Classic while their 10th grade program has been as impressive as anyone's this spring.

eXpressions - With four nationally ranked players in the class of 2017, eXpressions is a big draw for fans and college coaches alike. They too are headed to the EYBL finals at the Peach Jam this summer, their second appearance in Nike's flagship event, and have been winning just as many games on Nike's 10th grade circuit as well.

Middlesex Magic - They have been playing at a high level all season long but come into the Finals riding a wave of momentum following last week's championship at the Super 16 Showcase. With plenty of size, perimeter shooting and willing passers, this is a team that is eager to continue proving themselves against the best of the best.

DC Blue Devils - Don't let the "DC" fool you, the Blue Devils are the best team to come out of New Hampshire in recent memory. They won a championship at the Northeast Hoops Festival and have seen multiple players boost their recruitment significantly over the course of the last year. They're a team that can beat anyone on any given day.

Connecticut Basketball Club - New England's only Under Armour sponsored program, it has been a comeback year for CBC as their varsity squad has held their own on the UAA while their 9th grade team is turning heads and establishing themselves as one of the very best, not just in New England, but beyond as well.
