ZG Beast of the East Preview
With many teams that have performed well in the ZG Fall Circuit so far taking Columbus Day weekend off, new teams & players have the opportunity to step up. The field is as wide open as it has ever been, and so NERR is out to see who plays well and who takes advantage of their opportunity to showcase their abilities. New England has a chance to showcase their depth this weekend.
The Varsity division includes a program we have not seen yet. Expressions will have two teams entered, their varsity team and their 2019 team, giving us a chance to see improvements in several players who starred at the Elite 75 last month. NE Playaz, Edgehill, B2L, Central Mass Swarm, Evolution, NE Storm & RI Elite headline the field this weekend.
The 10th grade division features some up-and-coming teams. Holyoke Elite is coming off a solid weekend, and is looking to continue their momentum here at the Beast of the East. ASA Hoops, Rise Above Basketball looks to build on a strong fall, but Expressions, RI Elite, NE Burn & Boston Bobcats should all pose serious threats.
The 9th grade division is wide open. Central Mass Swarm, B2L & Boston Blazers all look to take the next step this weekend, but Expressions, RI Elite & Rise Above Basketball will add to the depth of this bracket, which will make it one of the more interesting Sundays of the fall so far.
With many new teams in the field, NERR will have the opportunity to look at teams and players that may get overshadowed at times. There are good players at every level of AAU, and stay tuned throughout the weekend to see who blasts onto the scene.
