Zenevitch Staying Local

Central Catholic's rising senior big man Jimmy Zenevitch put an early end to his recruitment on Monday, making a verbal commitment to Assumption head coach Serge DeBari.

Zenevitch selected Assumption over a wide variety of recruitment from other programs within the Northeast 10 Conference.

The six-foot-seven forward averaged combined with Carson Desrosiers to lead Central Catholic to a 26-1 record and an MIAA state championship last season.  Zenevitch averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds per game on the season and was named Herald All-Scholastic in the process.

"Division 1 or Division 2 just didn't matter to me," Zenevitch told the Eagle Tribune.  "A full scholarship is a full scholarship."

Zenevitch went on to say that although he didn't initially plan on making a decision until later this fall he was swayed by his future teammates at Assumption and all of the positive things they had to say about DeBari.

Zenevitch recently completed another succesful AAU season with the New England Storm where he was continuously followed by scholarship level coaches throughout the spring and summer.

The southpaw forward is a very skilled player from anywhere inside of 15 feet and an especially good passer for a big man.

He is the first player to commit to Assumption in the class of 2011.
