UMass Scores Transfer
Fresh off their 25 win season and a rum to the semifinals of the post-season NIT, UMass has landed a commitment from Western Kentucky transfer Derrick Gordon.
The six-foot-two guard averaged almost 12 points and 7 rebounds per game during his freshman season and was instrumental in Western Kentucky's surprise run to the NCAA tournament, going for 25 points and 15 rebounds in a win over Arkansas-Little Rock in the Sun Belt tournament.
Gordon will have three years of eligibility beginning in the fall of 2013 and will join a loaded backcourt that already includes Chaz Williams and Jesse Morgan.
