Tufts Scores with Engvall
Choate Rosemary Hall senior Ben Engvall made a verbal commitment to Tufts University this week after being accepted via early decision.
The six-foot-four forward is coming off a big summer on the July evaluation circuit which led to wide ranging recruitment before ultimately choosing Tufts over both various division III schools as well as an athletic scholarship offer from the division II level.
“It’s a great education and athletic opportunity in a major metropolitan area and it’s close to home,” Engvall said. “The coaches were great throughout my recruiting and it felt like a place I could have success on and off the court.”
A co-captain at Choate, Engvall helped lead the team back to the NEPSAC Class A finals as a junior and, most recently, is coming off a big performance in the St. Andrew’s Holiday Tournament in which he scored 50 points over the course of two games and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
A hard-nosed and athletic player with the versatility to play multiple positions, Engvall has also demonstrated a vastly improved offensive game. Here are some of his summer highlights:
