Tuesday Recruiting Rundown

New England Recruiting Report | Wednesday, June 3rd, 2015

Tuesday was a busy day of recruiting activity. Here's a look back on all of the news and notes:

  • Hamidou Diallo's AAU coach with the New York Jayhawks confirmed that the 2017 guard would take an unofficial visit to St. John's on Wednesday. Red Storm head coach Chris Mullin made a point of offering Diallo a scholarship in the first week after he accepted the job at his alma mater. Diallo is a New York City native who recently completed his first year in the New England prep ranks. Diallo owns other high-major offers from UConn, Wake Forest, Seton Hall, St. John's, USC, Providence, Minnesota and Temple among others.
  • Four Mass Rivals products traveled to UMass for an unofficial visit on Tuesday night and Chris Baldwin, Saul Phiri and Wabissa Bede all came away with scholarship offers. Baldwin had landed an offer from West Virginia earlier this spring while Phiri landed his first high-major offer from DePaul last month and owned previous Atlantic 10 offers from LaSalle and Duquesne. This is Bede's third offer of the spring, and fourth division I offer overall, but his first at the Atlantic 10 level.
  • Another Mass Rivals product, Wilbraham & Monson forward Wenyen Gabriel, picked up his latest high-major offer on Tuesday night after speaking with Vanderbilt. The SEC's top academic school joined Virginia, Connecticut, Kansas State, Xavier, DePaul, Georgia Tech and Maryland in offering the six-foot-nine forward this spring. Boston College, Providence, Rhode Island and UMass had all previously offered.
  • Two Expressions Elite products, Philmon Gebrehiwet and Jordan Mello-Klein, were on Northeastern's campus on Tuesday for an unofficial visit. Gebrehiwet recently picked up his first division I offer from Creighton, were former Boston College and Rhode Island assistant coach Preston Murphy recently joined the staff.
