Trinity Gets a Steal with NMH’s Seretta

Trinity College scored big on Tuesday afternoon when Northfield Mount Hermon senior swingman Nick Seretta announced that he would be joining the Bantams next season.

Seretta has played all four years at the NEPSAC Class AAA program while simultaneously coming up the ranks with the Middlesex Magic on the AAU circuit.

He saw his recruitment jump to new levels in the last 8 months earning multiple scholarship offers from both division I and II schools before ultimately deciding on Trinity.

"I've always wanted to use basketball as a tool to help get the best degree possible," Seretta told NERR, "and I love [Trinity head] Coach Cosgrove and [assistant] Coach Flynn. They believe in their guys and in their program and bring of lot of energy to the team."

Seretta is a powerful player and great competitor. He has a college ready body, seeks out contact attacking the rim, is equally effective in the mid-range area and now a much more versatile three-range scoring threat with the progression of his shooting range. His physical tools and intangibles also make him a talented defender and so it's no surprise that NMH head coach John Carroll expects him to make his mark in the NESCAC from day one.

"Nick is a terrific fit for Trinity College and head coach Jamie Cosgrove," Carroll said. "Nick expects to be an all-league player and we share that same expectation. He'll be an immediate impact player for the Bantams."

Seretta joins A.J. Brodeur (Penn) and Patrick Racy (Tufts) to become the third member of NMH's 2016 class to finalize his college plans.
