David Tiedemann 2018

It isn't often that a product of the Rhode Island Interscholastic League earns a full athletic scholarship for basketball. In fact, it's happened just once in the last five years.

That's what made the commitment of Westerly High School's David Tiedemann all the more noteworthy.

The 6-foot-8 forward made a verbal commitment to Assumption College on Monday, accepting a full four year scholarship offer from the Northeast 10 Conference School.

Tiedemann was a virtual unknown outside of the Ocean State before this spring but he joined PTT Elite and became a part of their foundation as they made their presence felt in New England this spring.

He first made a name for himself at the Elite 75 Academic Experience in March and by the time he returned to the Elite 75 College Showcase in June, he had Assumption and other scholarship level coaches following his progress. He continued to take his game to unprecedented levels in the month of July as he showed signs of putting together his rare combination of size, length, and skill.

"David Tiedemann is a good student, even better person, and has a ton of upside considering his length, athleticism, and abiliy to stretch the floor," said PTT director and head coach Drew Dawson. "We couldn't be happier for Dave and his family on his commitment."

Below are some of Tiedemann's summer highlights with PTT Elite.
