Swider Breaks St. Andrew’s Scoring Record
St. Andrew's senior forward Cole Swider scored 36 points in Sunday's 91-81 win over Vermont Academy at the NEPSAC AA Classic and in so doing became the all-time leading scorer in school history.
The previous mark of 2442 was set by former UConn guard Tony Robertson nearly 20 years ago. In that time St. Andrew's has produced other stars including Rakim Sanders, Michael Carter-Williams, and Bonzie Colson among others.
Appropriately, Swider broke the record with a pull-up three from the top of the key as the Villanova signee has always been best known for his shooting prowess.
"Cole came to St. Andrew's as a three-point specialist and is going to graduate as a complete scorer," said St. Andrew's head coach and athletic director Michael Hart. "He can score on opposing defenses in every way possible just like Tony Robertson did while at our school."
Swider, who is a top 40 ranked prospect in the ESPN 100, averaged over 20 points per game through 21 EYBL games with BABC this spring and summer. He went on to earn offers from the likes of Duke, Syracuse, and Indiana before committing to Villanova in the summer and signing his NLI during November's early signing period.
