Stonehill Lands Ohio Shooter
Stonehill College went to the state of Ohio to land their third commitment in the class of 2012 this weekend.
Pierce Cumpstone is a six-foot-six swingman from Kenston High School. He started all 21 games last season as a junior and averaged 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists while setting a school record for three-point accuracy by going 62 out of 130 from behind the arc.
His efforts earned him a variety of post-season accolades including All-District, All CVC, and News Herald All-Star.
"Pierce is an outstanding basketball player who has only scratched the surface [of his potential]," Kenston coach Josh Jakacki said. "He is freakishly long and is a very solid rebounder. His knowledge of the game is improving and he really starting to come into is own as a basketball player. Pierce's is the best shooter I've coached. I'm not afraid to say he is one of the elite shooters in northeast Ohio."
