STM’s Curry Comes off the Board
Less than a week before he is set to return to campus, St. Thomas More forward K.K. Curry committed to South Alabama on Saturday.
Curry is a Tennessee native who came to STM after leading Cleveland High School to a district championship as a junior. He initially enrolled as a true senior but later opted to reclassify back to 2019.
An absolutely explosive athlete, Curry's game was based around his ability to play up at the top of the box but he's begun to expand and diversify his attack over the course of the last year. He's learning to play with more consistent energy, expanding his playmaking ability off the bounce, and beginning to impact the game without the ball as well.
He starred for B. Maze Elite in the Under Armour Association this spring and summer. He was their second leading scorer, averaging just under 13 points per game on 54% shooting from the floor, and helped the team qualify for the UAA Finals in Las Vegas.
His ascension earned him new offers from the likes of Houston, UAB, and Middle Tennessee in recent months so his decision to commit to South Alabama is a major coup for first year head coach Richie Riley.
