STM Forward Heading to Atlantic 10

St. Thomas More School senior forward Denzel Gregg made a verbal commitment to Fordham University of Tuesday night.

Gregg, who is now in his second season at St. Thomas More, also ran with the Albany City Rocks on the AAU and EYBL circuits.

“It’s a great combination of academics and athletics, and I feel I can really succeed there,” Gregg told Zach Braziller of the New York Post.  “It’s a great place to be. I’ll work hard right away and work my way into my role on the team.”

Gregg is an explosive six-foot-six forward who will provide Fordham with one of the best sheer athletes in the prep school ranks.

Rams head coach Tom Pecora has put a premium on recruiting the prep schools ranks since taking over at Fordham two years ago.  In fact, Gregg is the seventh such product to commit in that time joining: Travion Leonard (Lee Academy); Jared Fay and Ryan Canty (Brimmer & May); and Jeff Short, Devon McMillan, and Mandell Thomas (Notre Dame Prep).

Ryan Rhoomes (Nia) and Jermaine Myers (Blair) are two other prep products from outside the New England region to commit in the same time period.
