STM Forward Heading D2

St. Thomas More’s season ended over a month ago, but they’re still not done producing scholarship players.

Post-graduate forward Alex Doche made a recent commitment to St. Edward’s University, an NCAA Division II school in Austin, Texas.

Doche becomes the tenth member of this year’s St. Thomas More team to accept an athletic scholarship as he joins Yuta Watanabe (George Washington), Eric Paschall (Fordham), Cane Broome (Sacred Heart), Calvin Crawford (Manhattan), Francis Kiapway (Ball State), Mike Wells (Albany), Josh Williams (Rider), Scott Toresco (Southern New Hampshire), and Travis Tomer (Indiana U of Pennsylvania).

A graduate of Fairport High School in upstate New York, Doche was also a product of the Albany City Rocks on the AAU and EYBL circuits.

While he ultimately missed long stretches of his post-graduate season with injury, the six-foot-five forward was able to return to the line-up to provide the Chancellors with a surge of toughness and perimeter shooting for their run to the finals of the National Prep Championship.

At the division II level he projects as a player who will be capable of playing multiple frontcourt positions and making contributions on both ends of the floor.
