South Kent Big Man Makes Pick

New England Recruiting Report | Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015

South Kent's Jovan Grujic committed to Stephen F. Austin on Monday following his official visit this weekend.

The seven-footer arrived from his native Serbia earlier in the fall and looked the part of a potential high-major prospect in the 2016 class. He backed that up with a strong start to the season, including a big performance at the National Prep Showcase in November, but later made the decision to enter the college ranks a year earlier than expected.

Now, he joins an SFA squad that has won 25 or more games in each of the last three seasons and gives them a post player with significant upside thanks to his ability to play with his back to the basket, step out and make an open three from the top of the key and willingness to rim-run hard on every possession.

Grujic is the second South Kent big man to commit to a division I school in as many weeks after Tyler Jackson's pledge to UC Santa Barbara.
