Santos Heading to The NE-10
Taunton HS and Basketball Club Rhode Island guard Trent Santos announced his commitment earlier this month to Assumption, a Division II school in Massachusetts.
Santos had an impressive career at Taunton, averaging 26.4 points per game while leading his team to a 17-3 record this past year. He also was the 2022 Hockomock League MVP as well as being a Boston Herald All-Scholastics selection. Santos played AAU basketball with Basketball Club Rhode Island of the ZGXL circuit.
“I haven’t seen a harder working athlete come through Taunton High in the past 20 years,” said Taunton head coach Matt Thielker. “You don’t become an All-State athlete in two sports and not put in the work. Trent put in the work and has made a lot of people proud in our community.”
“Assumption is getting a hardworking student-athlete who will be ready to compete when he walks on campus. Trent is a great shooter with a quick release and will be able to space the floor creating driving lanes and post-up opportunities for his teammates.”
Santos becomes the second member of Taunton’s 2022 class who has finalized their plans of where they will be playing college basketball next year.
