Samuels Scores 1000th; Takes ISL MVP
It has been a big week for Rivers School sophomore Jermaine Rivers, currently the top ranked prospect in New England's class of 2017.
It began last Friday night, in a game against Thayer Academy, when Samuels scored the 1000th point of his high school career, an incredible feet given that he's not even yet at the midpoint of his four years of high school.
A few days later he achieved another great honor when he was named the Most Valuable Player in the ISL for the 2014-2015 season.
The Independent School League includes 16 schools dispersed between Class AA, A and B of the NEPSAC - Belmont Hill, Brooks, BB&N, Governor's Academy, Groton, Lawrence Academy, Middlesex, Milton Academy, Noble & Greenough, Rivers, Roxbury Latin, St. George's, St. Mark's, St. Paul's, St. Sebastian's and Thayer Academy.
Rivers opens the NEPSAC post-season as the 6th seed in Class B and visits Beaver Country Day on Wednesday. Here are video highlights of their first match-up this year care of Diamond Educators on YouTube:
