Rising Senior Spotlight - Dylan Ahearn
Dylan Ahearn has a chance to go down as one of the winningest players in St. Andrew's School history...and that's quite a statement for one of New England's most storied
He's been a varsity contributor in all three years he's worn a Saints jersey. As a freshman, they went to the NEPSAC finals. As a sophomore, they won the Class AA championship. This year, they were back in the semifinals.
While Ahearn's athletic career may be equally distinguished on the golf course (he was All-State in Rhode Island and the SENE Gold Champion in 2019), basketball has always been his passion. His rare ability to impact winning hasn't gone unnoticed by college coaches either as he's alreayd heard from schools in the America East, Ivy, Patriot, Big South, and AAC.

Personal Statement
I am a coachable, athletic guard with a high basketball IQ. Playing in one of the nation's top prep schoo leagues, I have learned what it takes to win at the highest level and will do anything to do so. Although I pride myself on my shotmaking ability behind the arc and my playmaking skills, I also consider myself a relentless defender. I always make the hustle plays and so whatever is needed to win the game.
Recommendations
"Dylan Ahearn is the ultimate role player. He does everything well and is sneaky athletic. His shooting ability is top notch and he is a scholarship level player. We need him on the court at all times because of his toughness and ability to make the right play at the right time. He's won 73 games in 3 years and is a huge role model off the court too."
- Michael Hart, Head Coach, St. Andrew's
"Dylan is a winner. He can play and defend the 1-3 and is almost always the smartest guy on the court. Dylan has sneaky athleticism and can knock down the three consistently. If you're looking for a player that knows where to be on the court every, single, play, then Dylan Ahearn is your guy. "
- Isaiah Davis, Owner and Director, Team New England
"We recruited Dylan to WA and missed out on him obviously to St Andrew's, but throughout the years we have remained close. Great kid, teammate and an exceptional young man of character. This past year we played St Andrew's twice, in both games Dyln asserted himself with his ability to shoot, pass and rebound the ball. He is a very improved shooter and is only going to get better with his tremendous work ethic and attention to detail. I have already recommended Dylan to a plethora of Division 1 coaches and will continue to do so."

Scouting Report
"Dylan Ahearn is what I would describe as a "blend player." It's a term that I first heard Seth Greenberg use. Essentially, it means the type of player that successful teams rely upon, even if they're not the primary playmaker or scorer. These are guys who makes shots, and consequently provide constant floor spacing, have high IQ, and are consequently reliable decision-makers, are tough on both ends of the floor, and just prioritize winning above all else, including personal stats or accolades. That's the type of player I think Ahearn is and the number of games he's helped St. Andrew's win over the course of the last three years backs that up."
