Quinnipiac Gets Big Man in Late 2010

Michael Gabriel, a six-foot-seven 225 pound power forward from Lincoln Park High School in Chicago, committed to Quinnipiac this weekend and is expected to arrive on the Bobcats' campus later this month.  Gabriel is described as a horse inside the paint who plays very hard, does the dirty work, and is a throwback style low post player.

Gabriel recently traveled to AAU Nationals in Florida where he ran with Illinois Heat and led the team in both scoring and rebounding.  While he saw extensive recruiting from a variety of division I schools he reportedly committed to Quinnipiac almost immediately after receiving the scholarship offer according Illinois Prep Bulls-Eye.

Gabriel joins New England natives Dominique Langston and Ike Azotam in Quinnipiac's 2010 recruiting class as well as Juco College Will Harrison, and Lance Brown, who transferred from Fordham.
