Putnam Science Forward Earns Scholarship
Putnam Science Academy’s post-graduate forward Oscar Assie made a verbal commitment to attend American International College late last week according to PSA head coach Tom Espinosa.
Assie was a crucial component of one of the best PSA teams in school history, as they finished the season with a 20-9 record while recording several notable victories.
The six-foot-five forward was the team’s leading rebounder with 7.5 boards per game, third leading scorer at 12.1 points per game, and second on the team in blocked shots.
Prior to arriving at PSA, Assie starred at St. Joseph’s High School in Connecticut, where he helped the Cadets to a CIAC state championship in his senior year.
At AIC, Assie will provide a powerful six-foot-five forward with complimenting explosiveness and athleticism inside the paint.
