Providence Adds Guard to 2012 Class
Providence College head coach Ed Cooley picked up a commitment from Ian Baker this weekend.
Baker is a native of Washington, D.C. and currently in his senior season at Arlington Country Day School in Florida. He originally committed to South Carolina back in August but did not sign a National Letter of Intent in November and re-opened his recruitment following the school's coaching change last month.
Baker is a playmaking lead guard who is best known for his ability to get into the paint and make plays with his dribble. He becomes the fourth player to commit to Providence in the class of 2012 joining Kris Dunn, Ricardo Ledo, and Josh Fortune. Sidiki Johnson, a transfer big man from Arizona, will also join the class when he becomes eligible after the first semester.
