Pridgen is D1 Bound
Expressions Elite and Governors Academy forward Joe Pridgen was one of the big winners of the recently completed July evaluation period.
He went into the month without a single division I offer to his name and walked away with offers from schools in the CAA, Ivy League, Patriot League, and America East.
His recruitment came to an end just as quickly as it escalated this summer though when he took to his twitter account on Wednesday night to announce his commitment to Holy Cross.
You kno how that go❗️ Blessed to have this opportunity to be able to continue my basketball careeer at The College of Holy Cross!! #Purp #Committed @XEliteBasketbal @HCrossMBB @atrtraining978 pic.twitter.com/7dBFcmht3e

While Pridgen's recruitment might have picked up this summer, the reality is that he spent all spring and summer exceeding expectations. He was part of the nucleus for an Expressions squad that finished 9-7 in the EYBL regular season and went on to the EYBL Finals at the Peach Jam.
Pridgen was the team's third leading scorer and second leading rebounder according to D1 circuit, averaging 8 points and 5 boards through 16 regular season games while also shooting 55% from the floor.
His value though far exceeds the stat sheet though. He plays extremely hard on both ends of the floor and much bigger than his actual size inside the paint. He excels at getting downhill in the open floor and also has the potential to defend multiple positions at the next level.
Below are some of Pridgen's junior year highlights at Governors Academy care of hudl.
