Pemberton Pops for William & Mary

New England Recruiting Report | Saturday, September 12th, 2015

William & Mary has come north to New England to grab another talented swingman.

The last time they made such a move they ended up with Terry Tarpey, who played a big role on their NCAA tournament team a year ago.

This time, it's an equally impactful pledge from Cheshire Academy senior Elijah Pemberton.

The 6-foot-4 swingman is one of the most improved players in New England within the last year as he's dramatically improved his skill set, developing his mid-range pull-up into a weapon, making himself a consistent threat at the three-point line.

His newfound skills combined with his power and trademark athleticism make him a versatile perimeter scorer and someone who should be capable  of making an immediate impact in the CAA.

A Connecticut native, Pemberton began his career at Xavier High School but transferred to Master's for last season, where he landed an offer from Kansas State as part of the 2015 class.

Nevertheless, Pemberton elected to remain in 2016 and so returned to the EYBL Finals this summer with the New York Lightning, where he turned in a very strong performance. He held over a dozen scholarship offers ranging all the way up to the Atlantic 10 once the July recruiting period had come to an end and was attracting tons of suitors to Cheshire Academy this fall, before deciding to call it just three days into the fall recruiting period.
