Pachucki Commits to Fordham
Earlier this week, Hoosac School 2024 6’6” shooting guard Aleksander Pachucki announced his commitment to Fordham University to continue his basketball career in the Atlantic 10…
“Just run your own race.” That is all Pachucki had to say in talks with NERR, perhaps in reference to the fact that he somehow flew under the radar for so long. However, this season, that changed completely.
Pachucki has had an incredible year with Hoosac. To understand the level at which they play, it might help to know that Hoosac was one of the only teams, if not the only team, to beat two different nationally ranked prep teams this season at the time that they were ranked in the top tier.
The first was against reigning back-to-back National Prep Champions and reigning back-to-back NEBL Champions Putnam Science Academy, who also went on to win a third consecutive NEBL Championship later this past season. The victory came behind Pachucki’s unbelievable 48-point performance with 14 threes.
The second came against Vermont Academy, who even went on to be a top seed in the National Prep Championship. To be a leader on a team with that resume is already impressive enough, but it’s only the beginning of Pachucki’s stellar portfolio.
He had plenty of electric performances throughout the season, including wins over fellow NEPSAC-AAA competitor Brewster Academy (Prep) and WNEP power Canterbury School, scoring 35 and 29 respectively. Fordham gave Pachucki his first Division I offer just last week, and he committed a few days later.
It will be exciting to track Aleksander Pachucki’s progress as he begins his college career with the Fordham Rams…
