Okonoboh to Wilbraham & Monson in 2014
Goodluck Okonoboh is transferring to Wilbraham and Monson Academy for the upcoming season and reclassifying back to the class of 2014.
The news was announced via the Mass Rivals twitter account on Sunday afternoon.
Okonoboh made his debut with the Rivals during the second week of the July evaluation period before turning in a strong performance at the Adidas Super 64 Showcase in Las Vegas and propelling himself into the ESPN 100.
His move to the class of 2014 should only continue to push his recruitment to new levels as he'll undoubtedly be considered among the premier shot-blockers and defensive big men in the country.
“Goodluck and his father felt from a development standpoint reclassifying would really help him,” Wilbraham & Monson head coach Chris Sparks said. “I know with hard work and with some instruction he should be ranked even higher, which will be a greater opportunity for him in terms of college."
“He’s a great shot blocker and great around the basket. If he develops a more consistent range and moves with his back to the basket, he’ll raise his stock. We’re excited to have him.”
At Wilbraham & Monson, Okonoboh will join what was already a highly talented frontcourt, as he'll team with Kerem Kanter, Djery Baptiste, and Marcel Pettway to give the Titans tremendous size, talent, and depth up front.
