The 16th annual National Prep School Invitational got off to a busy start with 18 different games taking place on Thursday and Friday.  Here’s a look at the guys who were most impressive through the first two days of action:
 
Jarvis Garrett, Notre Dame Prep – The unsigned senior guard played through the stomach flu to lead Prep to a pair of tough wins over Mt. Zion and St. John’s NW Military respectively.  Garrett was particularly impressive on Thursday, knocking down six second half three-pointers.  He also made recruiting news, announcing he would choose between Rhode Island and Marquette on February 9th.
 
Eric Paschall, St. Thomas More – The Fordham bound forward put on a show on Thursday, first showing his athleticism around the rim for a series of put-backs before then getting hot from behind the three-point line.  He finished with 24 points in limited minutes while converting 9 of his 13 attempts from the floor.
 
Jalen Adams, Cushing Academy – The junior guard turned in his latest 30+ point performance in a growing line of big performance dating back to the Hoophall Classic.  Adams continued to show improved three-point range while also mixing in his trademark drives to the rim.
 
Tremont Waters, South Kent – The freshman point guard again rose to the challenge when the lights were on the brightest, coming up with 17 points, 5 assists, 5 steals, and 4 rebounds to lead the Cardinals to an overtime win over Vermont Academy on Thursday.
 
Danny Upchurch, Putnam Science Academy – The PSA point guard had his latest strong showing, picking his spots en route to a 24 point, 5 assist performance in a win over GB Academy, as he continues to prove his efficiency as one of the most all-around solid point guards in the prep ranks.
 
Zach Lydon, Bridgton Academy – The unsigned big man helped himself with a late night Thursday performance showing his combination of size, length, and developing skill.  He finished with 17 points while leading Bridgton to an impressive win over St. John’s NW Military Academy.
 
Temar Hermelijn, Canterbury – The junior swingman provided a bright spot for Canterbury in their Friday morning loss to GB Academy.  He stuffed all columns of the stat sheet with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists utilizing his length and athleticism to impact the game in a variety of ways.
 
Aubrey Dawkins, New Hampton – The six-foot-six post-graduate had all parts of his game clicking.  He was hot from behind the arc and athletic in transition, but equally important was the level of energy he was able to provide his team on both ends of the floor.  He finished with 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals.
 
Tyriek McCauley, Worcester – The powerful and athletic forward had perhaps his best game to date in a Worcester uniform, going off for 18 points on 8-9 shooting from the floor and pulling down 17 rebounds, 8 of which came on the offensive end.
 
Marcel Petteway, Wilbraham & Monson – The rugged four-man asserted himself in the paint, showing his typical low post arsenal while also making his presence felt on the glass.  He finished with a double-double of 12 points and 16 rebounds by the time it was all said and done to lead the Titans to the win.
