Norman Headed to the Big East
Worcester Academy & BABC guard Tre Norman announced his commitment to Marquette yesterday during a special presentation in honor of the late Terrence Clarke.
Norman began his high school career at TechBoston. Despite being an underclassmen, he played an important role on a Bears team that won back to back MIAA Division 2 State Championships.
With the COVID-19 pandemic taking away the majority of New England prospects’ 2020-21 seasons away, Norman chose to transfer and reclassify into 2023 at Worcester Academy.
His 2021-22 season for the Hilltoppers was a terrific one. He earned ALL-NEPSAC honors, helping his team win a Class AA Championship .
Norman showcased his ability on a national scale this past spring/summer, competing on the Nike EYBL circuit for BABC. He capped off his standout club season averaging 23.3 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 4.3 APG, and 2.0 SPG at the Peach Jam Invitational in North Augusta, South Carolina.
“Tre came aboard BABC as an 8th grader in spring ‘18,” said BABC head coach Leo Papile. Freshman season he was a key component of a team that went 70-2 and won the 15u division of AAU Nationls, Super Showcase, and US Open. We missed the ‘20 season due to COVID, instead we had team workouts nightly at outdoor parks across Roxbury.”
“The 2021-22 season was Tre’s first at Worcester Academy and he played up on the BABC EYBL team and continued this past season. He is a true winner, ultimate competitor, leader, perfect teammate, and has an A+ BBall IQ. Tre sees it as WE not me. Will play well into his 30’s for a living.”
Norman becomes the first member of Worcester Academy’s 2023 class to finalize their college plans.
