New Haven Coaches Clinic on Tap for this Sunday
WEST HAVEN, Conn. - The University of New Haven men's basketball team will be hosting a coaches clinic featuring Boston Celtics assistant coach Mike Longabardi, a member of the 2007-08 NBA Champions, on Sunday, October 9 at Charger Gymnasium.
Mike Longabardi begins his fifth season as an Assistant Coach with the Boston Celtics. He joined the staff prior to the start of the Celtics 2007-08 championship season. Longabardi was previously with the Houston Rockets for four seasons as an assistant coach/video coordinator for two seasons, the video co-ordinator for a season and the assistant video coordinator for a year. Before joining the Rockets, Longabardi spent seven years as an assistant coach for the men's basketball teams at Pfeiffer University, Adelphi University, Lafayette College and Towson University. He was on the coaching staff that led the Lafayette Leopards to a Patriot League title and an NCAA Tournament berth. A native of Brooklyn, New York, Longabardi graduated from Frostburg State University with a degree in health and physical education.
The clinic costs $45 and will also feature a clinic from head men's basketball coach Ted Hotaling on the fundamentals of the two-guard offense.
