Connecticut

Player of the Week – Jordan Williams, Torrington High School
Just when we think he can’t play any better…he does.  A week after becoming Torrington’s all time leading scorer, Williams broke the school’s single game scoring record with 52 points against Naugatuck.  Making the story even more interesting is the fact that the game had to be stopped with 2:26 remaining in regulation after Williams shattered the backboard with a two handed dunk for his 46th & 47th points.  A day later, the two schools would finish the contest and Williams would add another 5 points to help Torrington win 92-70. 

•  Chris Evans, Stamford, 29 points, 9 assists, & 7 rebounds in 70-54 win over St. Joseph’s
•  Oscar Assie, St. Joseph’s, the sophomore had 19 points & 18 rebounds against Harding
•  Joe Ives, Avon, had 30 points in OT win against previously unbeaten Canton
•  Braxton Gardner & Jason Perrier, Christian Heritage, 28 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 three-pointers for Gardner and 18 points & 12 assists for Perrier in 82-67 win over Boston Trinity
•  Anthony Mariano, Naugatuck, 26 points in 66-50 win over Seymour
•  Jefferson Lora, Lyman Hall, 21 points & 20 rebounds in 75-37 win over Amity
•  Brandon Sherrod, Stratford, 23 points, 11 rebounds, & 3 blocks in 68-35 win over Brookfield
•  Daryl McCoy, Hartford Public, 19 points & 19 rebounds in 61-50 win over E.O. Smith
•  Tyrus Weaver, Windsor, 27 points in 95-42 win over Conard
•  Luke Matarazzo, Choate, 25 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists, & 8 steals in 76-48 win over Williston
•  Greg DeSantis, Notre Dame – Fairfield, 30 points & 7 assists in 72-63 win over Weston
•  Anthony Ireland, Crosby, 31 points & 8 rebounds in 90-53 win over Seymour to clinch division title
•  Xavier Pollard, Suffield Academy, 36 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals & 3 three-pointers in win over Cheshire Academy

Maine

Player of the Week – Keegan Hyland, South Portland High School
Despite being the primary focus of the opposition’s defense, as he is virtually every night, the junior went for 39 points in a 56-51 win over Portland, including the 1000th of his career.  He was 19-20 from the free-throw line in the process.

•  Abdirahmen Mohamed, Biddeford, 15 points & 8 assists in 59-39 win over Kennebunk
•  Robin Wilson, Biddeford, 20 points, 11 rebounds, & 5 steals in 55-38 win over Scarborough
•  Aaron Hutchins, Schenck, 24 points, 6 assists, & 6 rebounds in 61-52 win over Stearns
•  Lenny Cummings, Cheverus, 18 points & 7 rebounds in 60-38 win over Deering
•  Ian Barwise, Thornton Academy, 23 points & 7 rebounds against Scarborough

Massachusetts

Player of the Week – Hanell Velez, Woburn Regional High School
Velez went for a career high 43 points and 7 three-pointers on Wednesday night, senior night at Woburn High School.  25 of those points, including 5 three-pointers, came in the first half, 14 more came in the 4th quarter to lead his team to a 62-54 win over Reading.  His 43 points made him the second all time leading scorer in Woburn history. 

•  Kyle Casey, Brimmer & May, scored 26 points (including the 1000th of his two and a half year career), grabbed 11 rebounds, and had 4 assists in 67-63 win at Proctor and then had 18 points, 10 rebounds, & 5 blocks against St. Andrew’s
•  Jaymie Spears, Georgetown, 34 points in a win over Manchester Essex
•  Billy Marsden, Central Catholic, 27 points giving him exactly 1000 for his career in 71-45 win over Lawrence
•  Wes Clark, Governor’s Academy, had 11 points, 10 assists, 8 steals, and a three-pointer at the buzzer to force overtime in a 48-36 OT win over Rivers.  Later in the week he hit another buzzer beater to beat Brooks, finishing with 20 points, 6 assists, & 4 steals.
•  Greg Kelley, Newton North, 29 points, 18 rebounds, & 5 blocks in 85-56 win over Weymouth
•  Ryan Spencer, Franklin, had 31 points including 7 three-pointers against Oliver Ames
•  Jerome Cohen & Jimmy Noel, Everett High School, Cohen had 19 points, including the 1000th of his career, and Noel 24 points & 13 rebounds in 75-72 win over Lynn English
•  Mike Clifford, Bishop Fenwick, 31 points, 21 rebounds, & 6 blocks in 82-70 win over St. Mary’s
•  Egi Gjikondi & Steve Suida, Malden, Gjikondi had 20 points & 20 rebounds while Suida 22 points in 67-47 win over South Boston
•  Rodney Beldo, Scituate, 35 points in 71-66 win over Duxbury
•  Laurent Rivard, Northfield Mount Hermon, 36 points including 10 three-pointers, which ties Mike Marra’s school record, in 106-82 win over Williams
•  Chris Quinn, Beaver Country Day, scored 20 against Hyde, 24 against Bancroft, and 20 against Wheeler in a four day stretch
•  Derek Retos, Brendan Rollins, & Eric Alleyne, Brimmer & May, Retos had 15 points, 5 assists, & 3 steals against Proctor and 17 points, 4 assists, & 3 steals vs. St. Andrew’s; Rollins had 15 points & 10 rebounds in win at Proctor; Alleyne had 18 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds, & 3 steals vs. St. Andrew’s

New Hampshire

Player of the Week – Jordan Laguerre, Trinity High School
In a rare test for Trinity, they got all they could handle from Dover earlier in the week.  Laguerre was the difference in the game as he scored 27 points showing his explosive offensive ability.  Trinity went on to win 58-51

•  Tarik Smith, St. Paul’s, 20 points & 7 steals in 80-51 win over Berwick Academy
•  Stephen Moore, Coe Brown, 25 points & 9 rebounds in double OT upset over Portsmouth
•  Jamie Zajac, Bishop Guertin, 20 points, clutch FT’s down the stretch, and great defense on Jake Nelson (5 points) in win over Nashua South
•  Josh Jones, Salem, 19 points and 3 three-pointers in 60-45 win over Alvirne
•  Jasmin Handanovic, Milford, 22 points in 70-67 loss to Pelham
•  Sean Henriquez, Campbell, 20 points, 8 assists, 5 steals, & 5 rebounds in 67-56 win over Berlin
•  George Tsourgranis, Portsmouth, scored 23 points in 60-43 win over St. Thomas
•  Mike Thorpe, Exeter, 19 points for the frosh against Winnacunnet
•  John Planer, KUA, 25 points in 53-49 win over Middlesex

Rhode Island

Player of the Week – Pucci Angell, La Salle Academy
He started the week by scoring 21 points, knocking down five three-pointers, handing out 7 assists, and grabbing 6 rebounds facing a box and one defense against Chariho.  Then, Angell went for 39 points in a win over Exeter-West Greenwich as he connected on 8 of his 11 attempts from behind the three-point line. 

•  Kelly Manix, Barrington, 20 points & 14 rebounds in 59-54 win over East Providence
•  Avery King, St. Raphael, 36 points, 8 rebounds, 7 steals, and 4 assists in 81-76 loss to Cranston East
•  Ricky Fuller, Cranston East, 22 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, & 2 steals in 81-76 win over St. Raphael
•  Malcolm Moniz, Shea, 22 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, & 4 steals in 80-51 win over Lincoln
•  Billy Baron, Bishop Hendrickson, 31 points including 2 three’s & 5-7 FT in 107-71 win over Cumberland
•  Ethan Smith, Cranston West, 30 points, 5 three’s, 5-6 FT, in 72-62 win over Woonsocket
•  Matt Chiccarelli, North Smithfield, 27 points, 13 rebounds, & 8 blocks in 55-44 win over Moses Brown
•  Jeff Schmeltz, Burrillville, 18 points, 10 rebounds, 9 blocks, & 8-10 FT against Juanita Sanchez 

Vermont

Player of the Week – Kyle Callanan, Mount Anthony Union
The junior point guard had three consecutive impressive performances this week.  First, he scored 16 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and handed out 7 assists in a 60-49 win over Hartford on Friday night.  Then, a night later, he poured in 31 points, including five three-pointers, in a 73-52 road win at Essex.  Finally, Tuesday night he scored 21 more points as MAU scored their third consecutive win, this time over Hoosick Falls High School 57-48. 

•  John Donnelly, Champlain Valley Union, 23 points & 8 rebounds in against South Burlington and 20 points & 9 rebounds in 55-45 win over Mt. Mansfield
•  Clancy Rugg & James Hale, Burlington, scored 21 & 17 respectively in 65-37 win over North Country
•  Connor Merrill, Vegennes, 17 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 blocks in 84-63 win over Vergennes
•  Mark Comstock, Rutland, 23 points, including the 1000th of his career, in 60-58 win over Brattleboro & 19 in win over Mt. St. Joseph’s
•  Jon Goldberg & Nick Meunier, Rice, 19 & 17 points respectively in 60-37 win over St. Johnsbury
•  Demir Smajovich, Essex, had 18 as Essex avenged earlier season loss to South Burlington
•  Logan White, Hartford, 27 points in 51-46 win over Burr & Burton
•  Ryan Carter, Proctor, 10 points & 27 rebounds in 67-47 win over Twin Valley
•  Jaren Scrubb, Stowe, 21 points in 67-45 win over Danville
