New England 2011 Rankings Announced

After four great years of basketball the class of 2011 has now wrapped up their high school careers.  Here is a look at the final New England rankings in the class. 

#1 Khem Birch, Notre Dame Prep (MA): Pittsburgh bound big man was a McDonald's All-American and the top ranked center in the national class of 2011. 

#2 Michael Carter-Williams, St. Andrew's School (RI):  The highest ranked New England native is another McDonald's All-American and on his way to Syraucse next year. 

#3 Naadir Tharpe, Brewster Academy (NH): A native of Worcester, Massachusetts, Tharpe has won at every level, is the best pure point guard in the region, and headed to Kansas. 

#4 Jakarr Sampson, Brewster Academy (NH): A top 40 prospect in the country, Sampson is one of the cornerstone's of Steve Lavin's first full class at St. John's. 

#5 Maurice Harkless, South Kent (CT): Another New England prep product headed to St. John's, Harkless is an undeniable talent with a world of potential. 

#6 Markus Kennedy, Brewster Academy (NH):  A big man with a bigger personality, Villanova is landing one of the best passing post players in the country. 

#7 Pat Connaughton, St. John's Prep (MA): The breakout performance of last summer's AAU circuit who backed it up with an MIAA state championship and commitment to Notre Dame this year. 

#8 Derrick Wilson, Hotchkiss (CT):  A power guard with toughness to match, Wilson is battle tested against the highest levels of competition and a sheer warrior en route to Marquette. 

#9 Todd Mayo, Notre Dame Prep (MA): Also headed to Marquette's backcourt, Mayo took his game to another level late in the season and proved himself one of the best scorer's in the region. 

#10 Jordan Laguerre, New Hampton (NH): A dynamic and explosive guard, this New Hampshire native is a high-major caliber talent who will make an immediate impact at UMass. 

#11 Dennis Clifford, Milton Academy (MA): Local Massachusetts big man who has improved by leaps and bounds in recent years and projects to only continue to do the same at Boston College. 

#12 Nemanja Djurisic, South Kent (CT): There wasn't a more productive big man in AAA this year than this skilled and powerful big man on his way to Georgia. 

#13 Aaron Cosby, Northfield Mount Hermon (MA): He made an early commitment to Seton Hall last year and followed it up with a big senior year at NMH proving himself one of the region's top scoring guards. 

#14 Damion Lee, St. Thomas More (CT): Drexel landed a steal in this athletic swingman who beat out a variety of bigger named prospects to earn all New England first team honors. 

#15 Durand Johnson, Brewster Academy (NH): A versatile swingman on his way to Pittsburgh where his defensive length and shot making will be big assets.
