NERR Mourns the Passing of Mike Yagmin
Longtime New England grassroots scout Mike Yagmin tragically has passed away. Known to many as “Yags”, he regularly could be seen in his signature baseline corner spot at all of the big New England prep or AAU events.
We ask for him and his family to be kept in your thoughts and prayers. His impact was felt by many and was shown by the countless tweets that were put out today. Many of these will be linked to this article.
I’ve met tens of thousands people through basketball, but none were quite like Yags. He was loyal, funny, unfiltered, generous, complicated, determined, passionate, calming and curious. He cared deeply about UConn, his cat, baseball and people from all walks of life. Yags lived. https://t.co/9xLmmgMJDs

One of the first dudes who really believed in me and tried to put my name out in front of every coach who would listen to him. All love yags you will be missed ❤️ https://t.co/3YlmAq260B

Words can’t describe how thankful I am. Never met anyone like you. You did so much so for many of us and I know you’ll always have my back. I’ll still be looking for you on the baseline at all my games. You changed my life. May you rest easy my guy pic.twitter.com/qDippZXxH2

In the short amount of time that I knew him, he offered to help me numerous times and made me laugh endlessly. A genuine guy.
So sad to hear about his passing.

Yags was totally unique & authentic. He cared deeply about the young people he connected with, loved being in the gym, & was a smart, independent thinker.
Rest in peace Yags.
Heartbroken by my friend Mike Yagmin's passing. No one was more passionate about helping young people, regardless of level, reach their dreams. Glad Yags got to see his guy Hassan Diarra win a championship a few weeks ago. He'll be sorely missed in gyms all over the Northeast. pic.twitter.com/tdcwMFWxzh

Thank you from your TNE family.
This is so sad to hear. Mike was a great dude who had so much passion for helping kids.
He told me UConn was gonna win it all before the season and was a couple rows back in Houston smiling and yelling “told you” right when the Huskies won the title.
Gonna miss ya, man. RIP. https://t.co/HjeVQC6QAA
