Personal Statement

I would like coaches to know that I have always been an extremely driven person and know what it means to be a consistent player and teammate, both in games and in the work that I put in outside of games. I see how important it is to push my teammates, put the team first, and always show up with a positive attitude. Offensively, I consider myself a very versatile player that has played the 1-5 spots, can shoot from range, and can finish inside. I also take just as much pride in being a defender that will work hard on defense in order to create offense. I have been able to work with great coaches and teammates that have helped me develop a high IQ and awareness on the court, and I am continuing to strive to learn more in order to improve my game.

Recommendations

"Lauren Beach is a 6'1 athletic wing player and one of the best athletes in New England. She is a three sport athlete and captain at Medway High School and has still been able to really add to her basketball skills each year, even while splitting her time between multiple sports. She is a capable outside shooter, who has really put a lot of time into that aspect of her game over the last year. She is able to attack off of the bounce and finishes well around the basket. She has the ability to guard multiple positions and has great length and anticipation. Lauren led her Medway High School team to the State Semi Finals this year and was poised to have a strong showing throughout the AAU Circuit in the Spring and Summer if we were able to play. In addition to having the size, strength and ability to impact a college game from year one, she also has been one of the most coachable kids that I have come across. Really strives to improve her game, receptive to advice and criticism and has always been a great teammate. Currently she holds an offer from Stonehill and in my opinion is one of the best kept secrets in New England. Having Coached at St Marks this last year, it is safe to say she would have been a league all-star in the ISL as well as an impact player on any team throughout our league."

"A 3-year varsity contributor, Lauren's biggest strength is her versatility. At 6'1", Lauren can score both inside and out and is adept at attacking the basket with both her right and left hand.   Her three point shooting ability makes her extremely difficult to defend and her shooting form is simply beautiful to watch. On the defensive end, Lauren is tenacious and leads our team in deflections. Lauren is a strong rebounder on both ends and she runs the floor extremely well in transition. This past season, as a junior captain, Lauren led Medway High School to our first Sectional Championship since 1992. The most exciting thing to me about Lauren is that she is still improving every day. She works incredibly hard at her game and has developed into a fine leader.   Lauren is an exceptional teammate and brings the complete basketball package. I look forward to coaching her again this coming season and watching her play in college."

Scouting Report

Lauren Beach is one of the purest athletes that I have seen in a while. She is able to get it done on both ends of the floor in all aspects. Beach is extremely versatile, she is able to score in the full court, beat defenders off the dribble, get to the basket with ease, and get her shot off in a matter of seconds and at all different ranges. Her quick, high release makes it difficult for her defender to recover and if they do her one-dribble pull up is no less than consistent. Beach’s ability to get into the lane and score around defenders and through contact shows her relentlessness and strength. Aside from scoring, she is able to see open passing lanes to provide her teammates with the best possible scoring options. However, her abilities do not stop on the offensive end. Defensively, Lauren’s height and athleticism make it fairly difficult for anyone to get their shot off or drive into the lane. She has a good vision for where the ball is going next and makes sure to get there before it does. Her overall basketball IQ is impressive, and it is obvious that she is very driven and motivated to not only better himself, but her teammates as well.
