Ndongo’s Next Stop at Georgia Tech
Putnam Science Academy forward Baye Ndongo recently announced his commitment to Georgia Tech.
Before coming to New England, Ndongo competed at Accelerated Prep in Colorado. He had standout performances for them at both the 2021 Border League and 2022 Tarkanian Classic both held in Las Vegas.
Ndongo decided in the second semester to attend PSA. He made an immediate impact for the Mustangs, impressing at February’s National Prep School Invitational. His key contributions helped PSA win both AAA Power 5 Conference and National Prep Championship titles. He averaged 8.3 points and 4.8 rebounds, including going for 14 points and 5 boards during the NPC Title Game.
The Senegal native also has experience on their National Team. He was on the 2021 U19 World Cup Team, averaging 7.6 points and 6.0 rebounds during seven games.
“Baye was a pleasure to coach,” said PSA head coach Tom Espinosa. “He brought us to another level when he arrived and helped us win our fourth National Championship in school history.”
“His versatility was a major asset. Baye is 6’10 and could guard one through five while being a mismatch nightmare offensively. He is so coachable and has completely bought into winning. His future is very bright and we cannot wait to follow him at Georgia Tech.”
Ndongo is the seventh member of PSA’s 2023 class who has finalized their plans to play Division One college basketball next season.
