Margoupis Will Be a Great Dane
Cushing Academy & Team New England forward Jack Margoupis announced his commitment yesterday to Albany.
He began his high school career at Sutton HS in Massachussetts. Margoupis was part of a Sammies team that went 24-2 in the 2019-20 season.
After the COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 season, he decided to transfer to Marianapolis Prep and reclassify into 2023. Margoupis had an impressive first season for the Knights, earned All-NEPSAC Class B honors.
A decision was made in late March that he would move on to an elevated level of competition in NEPSAC Class AA for this coming fall at Cushing Academy.
Margoupis competed on the AAU circuit with Team New England.
“Jack will have a tremendous career for Coach Killings and his staff at Albany,” said Cushing Academy head coach James Cormier. “He is a high level scorer to go along with a tireless work ethic.”
“He is committed to the weight room and learning the game at a high level in his final year of prep school. I look forward to seeing his progress this season at Cushing and beyond.”
“Jack is a 6’8 shooter who has a fearless swagger about him that will go a long way at Albany,” said TNE co-founder Isaiah Davis. He can defend the 2-4 positions with his length and has the bounce to dunk on you with authority. A great teammate. A great student. One of my favorites from the program!”
Margoupis becomes the first member of Cushing Academy’s 2023 class to finalize their college plans.
