Mallory Staying Home with Scholarship
Holy Cross High School graduate and Marianapolis Prep post-graduate Mike Mallory made a recent commitment to Southern Connecticut State University.
Mallory was one of the top seniors in the CIAC last season before going down with a torn ACL. Incredibly, he continued to play throughout most of the season on the bad leg before electing off-season surgery.
Unable to play on the summer AAU circuit, Mallory spent the time hitting the weight room and building up his body so that when he returned to the court this season, he boasted a more powerful and college ready physique.
In the Northeast 10, he’ll provide a versatile combo-guard capable of putting points on the board from off the ball or running the point.
Prior to his injury, Mallory ran with the Connecticut Basketball Club on the AAU circuit, advancing to the Elite 8 of the 2011 national tournament in Orlando. At SCSU, he’ll reunite with two of his former teammates from that squad in Greg Langston and Deshawn Murphy.
