Kentan Facey Commits to UConn
The University of Connecticut picked up a commitment from Kentan Facey on Wednesday evening, following an unofficial visit to the school.
A six-foot-nine power forward from Long Island Lutheran in New York, Facey was one of the big winners of the recent July evaluation period, running with the New Rens grassroots program.
Facey’s recruitment exploded early in the month after a big performance at the Adidas Invitational in Indianapolis. Following that tournament he landed scholarship offers from the likes of UCLA, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Memphis, St. John’s, Providence, Rutgers, USC, and Connecticut.
Facey is a long and athletic four-man who provides a live body around both rims, a shot-blocking presence on the defensive end, and a developing skill set inside of 15 feet.
