Kasperzyk Commits to Bryant
Bryant head coach Jared Grasso was introduced on Monday morning. In the next 24 hours he offered a host of prospects from throughout New England and the tri-state area. 72 hours later he landed his first commitment from Woodstock Academy post-graduate and Hillhouse High School alum Joey Kasperzyk.
Kasperzyk had a storied career at Hillhouse, helping the Academics to a pair of state championships, and had a history of proving himself against top national competition both this season at Woodstock as well as in the 2017 Nike EYBL season with Expressions Elite.
A dynamic playmaker who is explosive with the ball, Kasperzyk emerged into one of Woodstock's primary offensive weapons down the stretch of this season and wound up picking up new offers all the way up to the MAAC in the process.
"I picked Bryant because Coach Grasso beleives in me and what I could become," Kasperzyk told Sean Bock of ZagsBlog.com. "Also, they fit my play style. I would bring high energy, defense, and a winning mentality to the team."
While Kasperzyk becomes the first player to commit to Grasso, he's the second local New England product to join the class after Suffield Academy big man Patrick Harding signed during November's early signing period.
Kasperzyk becomes the 9th member of Woodstock's 2018 class to accept a full athletic scholarship, and second already this week. Below are some of his season highlights.
