Junior Elite 75 Showcase – Event Recap

Some of the top young talent converged on Boston University’s Case Gymnasium on Friday night for the third annual New England Junior Elite 75 Showcase.

After some warm-up drills to get the blood flowing, the evening’s action began with an intense hour of skill development work, focusing on a variety of different offensive concepts including etting and using screens, playing off dribble hand-off, moving without the basketball, dynamic dribble moves, and more.

Players were also educated on what to expect upon reaching the high school level and encouraged to work hard to pursue their goals.  Current high school stars Pat Connaughton and Michael Carter-Williams were both referenced as players who didn’t start their high school career ranked at the top of their class but are now headed to the Big East because of their hard work and dedication.

Once the exposure games began a host of different players were able to stand out and make a name for themselves.  One of the very best individual performances came from Tyree Weston, a six-foot-one shooting guard from Keith Middle School in Massachusetts, who put together a series of highlight reel plays.

Stay tuned to the New England Recruiting Report’s Junior Elite Division throughout the week as we’ll relive all of Friday night’s action and look back at all of the individual players that stood out.
