Junior Elite 75 Returning to New England

The 9th annual Junior Elite 75 Showcase will return to New England on Sunday, March 12th at the University Sports Complex.

The Junior Elite 75, open to players in grades 5-8, has played host to the best up and coming young prospects in New England since 2009.

The event strives to introduce middle school prospects to the NERR brand and help prepare them and their families for what lies ahead on the high school level.

This year's Junior Elite 75 is also unique because it will coincide with the launch of NERR's Junior Elite Prospect Database, a new feature on the New England Recruiting Report website which will allow high school coaches, prep schools coaches, grassroots coaches, players, and families alike to search through the region's top young prospects by a number of criteria.

NERR-TV will also be on hand to provide each player with the option of including video footage to their Junior Elite Prospect Page.

The basketball will feature controlled games, but first and foremost advanced skill instruction introducing the concepts players will, ideally, learn at the next level including pick and roll, drive and kick, finishing techniques, and more. Finally, the event coaching staff will be comprised exclusively by active high school, prep school, and college coaches.

The event will also feature a number of academic components to help players and parents prepare for the high school level as well. A secondary school fair will coincide with check-in to provide players and parents with an opportunity to learn about some of the most prestigious academic schools in the northeast while admissions representatives will also be on hand to discuss typical requirements of local prep and private schools. Additionally, a "prep vs. public" panel will explain the differences between competing in a local state association vs. a NEPSAC school. Finally, seminars will also be available on the requirements of the NCAA eligility center, which every incoming high school student and parent should be aware of, regardless of where they go to school.
