Jackson and Griffiths Lead Connecticut’s 2023 Class

Connecticut is the next state up in our updated 2023 state rankings release.

Elmarko Jackson from South Kent and Gavin Griffiths from Kingswood Oxford earned the top two spots. Jackson, headed to Kansas, is an explosive guard with strength, competitiveness, and pull-up shooting. Griffiths, bound for Rutgers, is a sharpshooting wing who can get hot at a moment’s notice from deep. 

Mouhamed Dioubate and Baye Ndongo from Putnam Science come in at four and five. Dioubate, on his way to Alabama, is a high-motored forward who impacts the paint on both ends of the floor. Ndongo is a physically gifted forward who can still stand out with limited touches.

Another PSA pair in Tarique Foster and Miles Rose round out the top ten. Foster is a lengthy forward with leaping ability and long-range shooting potential. Rose, on his way to St. Bonaventure, is a big guard who makes plays for others and defends multiple positions. 

Jordan Stiemke from Loomis Chaffee and Brandon McCreesh from Hotchkiss earned the 13th and 15th spots. Stiemke, committed to Loyola Maryland, is an explosive wing with a college-ready body. McCreesh, headed to Bucknell, is a good-sized guard who can score at multiple levels. 

The Avon Old Farms duo of Christian Moore and Jeffrey Akintolu come in at 18 and 19. Moore, on his way to The Citadel, is a combo forward with physicality and mid-range shooting touch. Akintolu, bound for NJIT, is an athletic forward who rebounds and makes spot-up treys. 

KC Ugwuakazi from Cheshire Academy and Alvin Baez from Springfield Commonwealth are at 24 and 25. Ugwuakazi is a powerfully built forward who rebounds, alters shots, and finishes above the rim. Baez, playing at Adelphi next season, is a multi-level scoring guard with good leaping ability. 

Jack Nieradko from Northwest Catholic and Tristan Davis from Frederick Gunn round out the top 30. Nieradko, is a big who is skilled on the interior and can hit an occasional standstill three-pointer. Davis, bound for Trinity, is a strong big man with length, lift, and mobility.
