Hoop Group Elite Camp Session One - Wednesday Blog
NERR scout Jared Exler was on hand last week at Hoop Group Elite Camp Session One which took place at East Stroudsburg University.
In case you missed any of the action, here is a rundown from him on some of Wednesday's standouts.
Another impressive live viewing for me of 2024 @WMA_Basketball wing Korbin Dixon. He stood out last game set using his burst/sharp through the legs move to get to the rim at will in transition or against a set defense. pic.twitter.com/PeEdlIJqqI

2023 Bracknell (ENG) big man Gabriel Romero-Sanz has nice vision finding cutting teammates/second side shooters, ball skills to initiate fast breaks/attack closeouts, and finishing touch to be a reliable scoring threat around the basket. pic.twitter.com/ELYl3xHIqj

College coaches will be getting familiar quickly with 2026 prospect Johnny Bol. Lanky 6’10 big man is fluid as a rim runner, alters opponents’ shots when coming over from the weak side, and already has some touch as a standstill three-point shooter. pic.twitter.com/ZG0n3D0Ggz

2023 @BMBoysBball & @jerseyforce_ guard Joshua Michigan has a smooth stroke from beyond the arc, making treys off the catch or on pull-up attempts. Also has some shake off the dribble to evade defenders and get to his soft floater. pic.twitter.com/7TXKatcqV6

Martin Somerville, a 2024 from @McNamaraHoops is a shifty guard with some flair who can hit treys off the bounce, has a propensity for drawing contact around the rim, and finds open teammates well in transition. pic.twitter.com/SjGhvuQWLL

Herbert Daughtry, a 2024 guard from @GraybeeHoops & @NewHeightsNYC has sharp handles/solid passing feel to make an impact on the ball, a creative layup package/comfort taking contact to finish well around the rim, while also impacting the game defensively with his quick hands. pic.twitter.com/fppRLpfxVx

Reggie Sanders, a 2024 from Word of God Christian Academy (NC) caught my eye last game set. The speedy guard is a solid half-court/transition passer and has good reflexes jumping into passing lanes for steals. pic.twitter.com/2N5Nrk9kZV

Available 2022 Shanghai HS (CHN) guard Marcus Gao uses a nice change of pace to get into the lane and create for others, as well as being a spot-up/pull-up threat from deep. pic.twitter.com/TVxe4RRSYq

2023 @TiltonSchool & @AcademyHoops forward Michael Karnisovas is a pick and pop threat from deep, can put the ball on the floor when attacking closeouts, and has nice instincts as an off-ball cutter. pic.twitter.com/HTbFn7OCsd

2024 @step_basketball & @peaceyouth_ct guard Noah Whitehead is a quick decision maker in the half-court spraying the ball out to open shooters, and also can make open standstill treys when the ball is swung to him on the perimeter. pic.twitter.com/IxO9J8lkDl

2024 @Iolani_School forward Luke Tobin can space the floor from deep when spotting up, take opponents off the dribble in straight lines, and rotates well defensively to make an impact as a rim protector. pic.twitter.com/zD22jWFqF5

2026 @CATSBoston & @ExpressionsBall big man Darrell Nderitu has good hands to corral difficult rebounds/roll passes on ball screens, as well as nice footwork to create better scoring angles for himself in the post. pic.twitter.com/FNqXdXVwOR

2025 @aceshoops guard Julian Meekins makes good reads as a pick and roll passer, can finish around the rim with creative finger-rolls, and uses active hands to rip opponents when they are weak with their handle. pic.twitter.com/j5FokhyiId
