Holy Cross Lands Local Product

St. Mark's senior guard Eric Green made a verbal commitment to Holy Cross head coach Milan Brown on Monday.

Now in his third season at St. Mark's since arriving from his hometown near Oakland, California, Green has emerged into an extremely versatile player.  A six-foot-five guard who is a high level athlete and excellent defender, he is also capable of playing all three perimeter positions.

His physical tools and defensive production make him a good fit at Holy Cross as the Crusaders continue to put together one of the more athletic teams in the Patriot League.

Green becomes the third player to commit to Holy Cross in the class of 2012, joining six-foot-two shooting guard Cullen Hamilton from the Potomac School in Virginia and six-foot-seven forward Chris Morgan from Gloucester High School in Virginia.

More importantly, he is the first New England product to commit to Holy Cross since Brown arrived from Mount St. Mary's last year.  The commitment is significant because it signals the inroads the Crusader's coaching staff has been able to make into the local New England talent base, and is surely a sign of things to come as they look to complete their 2012 class and move on to 2013.
