Herren BC Bound in 2018
Tabor Academy guard Chris Herren Jr. signed a financial aid agree with Boston College earlier this week.
Previously listed as part of the class of 2019, Herren has reclassified to 2018 and enrolled in summer school with Boston College's incoming freshmen class.
"We are excited to add Chris to our program," said B.C. head coach Jim Christian. "He is a dynamic scorer who possesses a high basketball IQ. His ability to shoot from long-range and his playmaking ability will fit our playing style well."
Herren helped the New England Playaz to the finals of both the Adidas Gauntlet Finale and Adidas Summer Championships last July and was in Las Vegas when B.C. initially offered him as part of the 2019 class.
He put up 23 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists per game for Tabor this past season, while also shooting 42% from three, but missed the final five games of the seaon as well as the post-season with a stress fracture in his lower back.
Herren was named All-New England in Class A following the season but was unable to return to the court this spring.
He is the second guard to commit to the Eagles this week as they also landed a pledge from 2019 guard Jay Heath Jr. from Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington D.C. on Tuesday night.
